Alice Springs ArtistsSand Dune Dreaming – Reanelle Jurra SOLD
$0.00
Reanelle Jurrah comes from the remote community of Willowra, which is several hundred kilometres north-west of Alice Springs.
This painting depicts images of Reanelle’s ancestral country, the finely delineated structures showing the terrain of the sandhill and bush country, often with markings that reveal waterholes and ceremonial sites.
The roundels are the waterholes depicted from above and the dots are the seeds or plants growing. Waterholes are cared for and maintained by the Aboriginal people, as they not only provide an important resource for them to drink in a desolate environment but also for the animals (also a food source) that come to drink at the site.
